We are seeking an Outdoor Educator Intern to join our team this summer!

Outdoor Educators Internship is an opportunity for individuals to gain experience teaching and working with elementary-age children outdoors. Interns help lead Wenatchee River Institute’s (WRI) youth summer day camps based in Leavenworth, Washington. These weekly day camps are for children in grades 1-6 and focus on a variety of themes including science, nature appreciation, outdoor recreation and leadership skills. Camp activities are diverse and include art, science, nature games, hiking, paddle-boarding, survival skills, rock-climbing and gardening to name a few.

Interns will work alongside one WRI staff with 13 children and will assist staff with camp management, activity preparation and lending a hand wherever needed. Interns must agree to work with camps for the entire 6 weeks plus one day of training. We are looking for those who exhibit strong communication and leadership skills, have an interest in science and the natural world, are motivated to work with young children and can be a positive role model.
